A Legend returns
This week the AFL celebrate the contribution that Indigenous players have made to our great game. So it was wonderful to receive a call today from the wife of a former West Townsville Bulldogs player, Kerry Lampton. Kerry and his family had travelled down from Cairns, where he has lived for the past 16 years, to attend a family funeral and wanted to call in at the Doghouse for a look.
A quick call to Life Member, John Finn, had him down at the ground for a catch up and a guided tour of the new facilities. John advise that Kerry was a sensational Junior player who won both the U13 and U15 League Best and Fairest awards in 1973.
Kerry's photo hangs proudly in the Doghouse acknowledging his achievement. Kerry and his family were excited on seeing the new ground and reliving some of his personal history and left very happy.
